Good morning to all the teachers and assistant teachers of Strong Tower Baptist Church Student Ministries,

As you know, Student Promotion Day is scheduled for Sunday, August 2nd. We are excited for this special day as many of our children and students take the next step into a new class and continue growing in their faith.

For as long as I can remember, our church has allowed students to move into their next grade or class at the close of the school year. While families have always had the option to remain in their current class throughout the summer months, once the new school year begins, students should transition to their new class.

Recently, there has been some unintentional misunderstanding that students are not allowed to move until Promotion Day. This is certainly no one’s fault—it has simply been an honest misunderstanding. I wanted to provide some clarity so that we can all remain consistent in how we communicate with our families.

With all the planning surrounding Promotion Day, I ask that we do not actively encourage children or parents to move into their new classes before August 2nd. However, some families may still choose to make that transition early. As other children see classmates move, they may decide they would like to move early as well.

If you receive new students in your class before Promotion Day, please welcome them with open arms and begin adding them to your class roll. Please do not turn them away based on the idea that they must wait until August 2nd. We want every family to feel welcomed and supported during this transition.

Beginning August 2nd

Starting on Promotion Day, please keep a written paper ledger of every new student who moves into your class. Recording these names will be a tremendous help to Andrea as she updates our records in Church Office Online and ensures every student is placed in the correct class.

Let’s Make Promotion Day Special

On Promotion Day, take a few moments during your class to welcome and introduce those who are new. For many students, moving into an older class is a significant milestone. Some may be excited, while others may be a little nervous about the change. A warm greeting, a personal introduction, and helping them feel included can make all the difference. Let’s work together to make every child and student feel loved, accepted, and excited to be in their new class.
