First, You Must Realize and Accept that You Are a Sinner.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”-(Romans 3:23)
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10)
No one is perfect. God’s standard is perfection, He cannot tolerate anything less than perfect. This is why we must be represented by perfection. None of us can ever meet God’s standard on our own!
Second, You Must Accept as a Sinner, You Owe a Penalty
“For the wages of sin
is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”-(Romans 6:23)
“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”-(Ezekiel 18:4)
This death the Bible references in this passage is known as the second death. The second death is when a sinner who has not repented of their sins and trusted Christ as Savior dies in that condition. At that point they will have to pay eternally by being cast into a literal lake of fire as eternal payment for their sins.
If we elect to take our chances concerning this truth, you can be sure that we will be required to pay what we owe. That payment we owe is an eternity in the lake of fire (HELL).
Third, You Must Accept That Jesus Christ Has Already Paid Your Sin Debt
“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”-(Romans 5:6)
“…that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”-(Hebrews 2:9)
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”-(1 Corinthians 15:3, 4)
Christ Jesus never sinned. The Bible teaches us that God placed all of our sin on Christ. Christ bearing our sin on the cross was actually God’s just punishment that was owed to us. This is not an event that happens in the future. This great act of love has already taken place on the cross when Christ laid His life down for all of mankind.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”-(John 3:16)
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”-(2 Corinthians 5:21)
Christ Jesus has already paid for the sins of the whole world!
Fourth, You Must Accept By Faith What Jesus Christ Did For You!
Many times in the Gospel of John the Bible says, “BELIEVE!”
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”-(John 3:36)
This verse reveals to us that the Lord Jesus divides the world into two distinct groups. One group is made of those who are believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the second group is made up of those that are not believing upon the Son of God. For all those who believe upon the Lord Jesus shall have everlasting life, and for those who do not will not see life!
The word “BELIEVE” means “to trust, depend on, and or to rely on.” To believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ means that you accept the truths that the Bible reveal to us about what we must do with Christ. Those are: 1)You are a sinner. 2)You owe a debt as a result of you being a sinner that has broken God’s law and standards. 3)You must accept that Christ paid your debt on the cross when He gave His life willfully as a substitutionary sacrifice. 4) You must accept that after 3 days in the grave, Christ arose from the dead.
To bring all of these truths that you must accept concerning yourself and Christ for salvation is to fully Trust in CHRIST ALONE. You must come to Christ and trust Him alone for salvation and the gift of eternal life. There is nothing that you can do to save yourself, Christ is the only way to be accepted of God and have your sins forgiven and washed away.
The moment you call upon the name of the Lord and confess your sins and believe in your heart these truths concerning Christ and place your faith in Him for Salvation, you will never perish. He will save your soul and give you eternal life!
Jesus said:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”-(John 5:24)
If you wish to put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and trust in Him alone for salvation, will you bow your head and pray this simple prayer and mean it from your heart.
“Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner in need of salvation. I know fully that I owe a debt for my sins. I ask you Lord to forgive me of all my sins. Cleanse me and make me whole. I accept your free gift of salvation that was provided by your death for my sins on the cross. I put my full trust in your for salvation as well as all other aspects of my life. Lord, I ask you to help me live the rest of my life for you.”
If you prayed this prayer, we want you to know that there is no magic to this particular prayer or the words contained in this prayer. The life changing salvation is granted to you based on the faith that you’ve placed in the Lord Jesus for the full payment for your sins. According to the Bible, if your faith is in Christ Jesus, and you have believed these biblical truths presented, we at Strong Tower Baptist believe you have been born again. We encourage you to tell everyone of your new found faith in Christ Jesus. Simply tell them how you were saved and encourage them to do the very same.
