“THE FISH & FOWL”

Two of the most fascinating types or kinds of creation of our Lord are fish and fowl. Fish are one of God’s great beauties in all His creation. From the tiny little minnow swimming through streams and lakes to the giant whales of the sea. There is likely no other creation that is more diverse than fish and the monsters of the sea. The deepest recorded fish is the snail fish. God has created them with such detail, they can withstand depths as deep as 27,000 feet. This is over 5 miles deep.

God created the fowl of the air on the same day that He created all the various species of fish and monsters of the sea. Whether it’s a little chick frantically running for cover under the safety of its mother’s wing or the beautiful display of color when the peacock spreads it’s feathers for everyone to see, God’s creation of the fowl of the air is beyond amazing. Eagles have the greatest of eyesight in all of God’s creation. An eagle is estimated to see its prey from as far as two miles in the sky. Simply amazing.

The creation of fish and fowl is filled with extreme diversity among each kind. These two types of creation provide us with massive amounts of food and loads of fun in recreational bird watching and the sport of hunting and fishing. They each play and enormous part in our ecosystem as well. God created the fish and fowl on day 5 of creation.

There is no height any fowl can fly and no depth that any fish can swim that God is nor actively present. He is the very one who provides provision for both fish and fowl. Jesus used the fowl of the air to illustrate His great love and provisionary care for us (Matthew 6:26.) If He cares enough to keep the fowl fed considering they do not sow their own food, how much more will He provide for us. The God who created the fish and fowl is the God who provides for you and me.

Genesis 1:20—23 “20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.”
